Florida’s Legislature is where many of the decisions that most directly affect South Florida are made, from property insurance and housing costs to education, transportation, reproductive rights, environmental protection and the future of local government.
For Palm Beach County, the 2026 election presents a mix of experienced incumbents and candidates seeking to enter the Legislature for the first time.
The County has reviewed the candidates on the November ballot, their public records, qualifications and stated priorities. Across the Palm Beach County delegation, voters will find a range of experiences and approaches.
Elizabeth Pandich is running for House District 86. The Florida Division of Elections lists Pandich as the Democratic nominee, with Republican John Snyder also qualified for the general election.
Pandich brings a background in small business and equestrian-related work, along with an academic background from Cornell University. Her candidacy represents a departure from the traditional political résumé and puts an emphasis on bringing an outsider perspective into Tallahassee.
The central question for voters in District 86 is how that experience translates into legislative work on the issues facing Wellington and western Palm Beach County.
Rep. Emily Gregory is seeking another term representing House District 87. She is the Democratic nominee and will face Republican Jon Maples in November.
Gregory enters the general election with the advantage, and responsibility, of an existing legislative record. Her candidacy can therefore be evaluated not merely on campaign promises but on what she has done in office and how she has represented her district.
That distinction matters. Incumbency gives voters something challengers do not: a public record to examine.
Rep. Jervontae “Tae” Edmonds is the Democratic nominee in House District 88. He is currently listed as an incumbent.
Edmonds has established himself as part of Palm Beach County's newer generation of legislators. His reelection campaign gives voters the opportunity to evaluate his first term and his priorities for the district. District 88 includes communities with significant needs around economic opportunity, housing, transportation and public investment.
Rep. Debra Tendrich is the Democratic nominee in House District 89 and, like Edmonds, qualified without a Democratic primary opponent.
Tendrich's candidacy comes with an established legislative record. That record, not simply campaign messaging, provides voters with the clearest opportunity to evaluate her approach to governing. Her district encompasses communities facing many of the affordability and quality-of-life pressures affecting South Florida more broadly.
Rep. Rob Long is the Democratic nominee in House District 90 and is seeking reelection.
For District 90, issues such as affordability, transportation, environmental resilience and the relationship between Tallahassee and local governments will remain central to the next legislative term.
Luis Garcia is the Democratic nominee in House District 91, where he will face Republican incumbent Peggy Gossett-Seidman in the general election. Unlike several neighboring districts, this is a genuine contest between candidates with different political affiliations and governing perspectives. Garcia's campaign provides voters with the opportunity to consider a new voice for the district and what priorities he would bring to Tallahassee.
Rep. Kelly Skidmore is the Democratic nominee in House District 92 and is seeking reelection. Skidmore has legislative experience and an existing record for voters to examine. Her race is therefore less about introducing voters to a new candidate and more about assessing whether her record and stated priorities warrant another term. We believe that her effectiveness in Tallahassee has earned her another term.
August Mangeney is the Democratic nominee in House District 93, a competitve contest against Republican Anne Gerwig. Mangeney represents a new-generation candidacy. The race presents voters with a straightforward question about the direction they want their district to take in Tallahassee and what kind of representation they expect from a legislator.
Elizabeth Holmes is the Democratic nominee in House District 94. She will face Republican Megan Weinberger, aka "MAGA MEG". District 94 encompasses communities in western Palm Beach County, including Belle Glade, Pahokee, South Bay, Royal Palm Beach and Westlake. Those communities have distinct economic and infrastructure needs that can sometimes receive less attention in statewide policymaking. The district's next representative will have an important role in bringing those concerns to Tallahassee. MAGA MEGA is not the best person for that role.
Taken together, these races represent a significant portion of Palm Beach County's voice in the Florida House.
Some candidates come to the ballot with years of legislative experience. Others are asking voters to give them their first opportunity to serve. That distinction is important, but so is the broader question of what Palm Beach County expects from its delegation.
The 2026 election will ultimately determine not just who holds these individual seats, but what kind of delegation Palm Beach County sends to Tallahassee, and how effectively that delegation represents the communities it serves.
